Bergen Darby

As an Event Designer at HMR, Bergen combines creativity with the genuine care she brings to every client relationship. Her passion for design began at twelve, working alongside her grandmother, an interior designer. From organizing fabric samples to helping select paint colors, she was immersed in the creative process from an early age. She carried that foundation into the event industry, designing luxury weddings at an established Chicago firm before serving as Director of a prestigious venue, where she gained an understanding of events from every perspective.

Today, Bergen loves designing weddings, and for her, the best ideas always begin with a conversation. She takes the time to learn each couple’s story, collaborates closely with their vendor team, and transforms early ideas into thoughtful concepts and renderings, giving clients the opportunity to see their vision come to life before the celebration begins. More than anything, she wants designing to feel enjoyable; guiding decisions with confidence, keeping the process light, and leaving couples even more excited after every meeting.

Outside of work, Bergen enjoys traveling and often finds inspiration in the places she visits. She’s always happy to swap travel stories and recommendations.
