Corrin Walters
Event DesignerCorrin creates thoughtfully curated environments that transform spaces and bring beautifully composed moments to life. Known for her layered, atmospheric approach, she designs experiences that feel intentional, elevated, and emotionally resonant.
She began her career studying landscape design and horticulture at The Ohio State University, where she fell in love with plants and the art of shaping outdoor environments. That passion led her into floral design, working in retail flower shops in Los Angeles and Chicago before freelancing on large-scale events and installations throughout the city.
Over the past four years, Corrin has guided projects from concept through execution, collaborating closely with planners and production teams to deliver seamless, custom experiences. Her background in art history and deep appreciation for fine art, architecture, interior design, fashion, and nature continue to inform her editorial, design-forward aesthetic.
At HMR, she specializes in creating bold, highly customized events that feel immersive and truly personal. Whether designing sculptural florals or full-scale installations, her work is grounded in a simple belief: atmosphere is everything, and every detail shapes how a moment is felt.
- Where do you find inspiration outside of work? I’m inspired by interior design, art, and architecture, with a deep love for vintage and mid-century décor, travel, botanical gardens, and floral design. Fashion, the spirit of ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s music, and even cooking all play a role in shaping my creative point of view.
- What are your favorite flowers? I love blooms that feel romantic and expressive — fritillaria, campanula, sweet peas, foxglove, garden roses, purple passionflower, tree peonies, vanda orchids, antique hydrangea, and cloni ranunculus. I’m always drawn to flowers with movement and a sense of natural elegance.
- What's your favorite spot for a night out in Chicago? For a night out in Chicago, it’s either a dressed-up dinner date at Trivoli Tavern or live music at the Empty Bottle, followed by a cozy neighborhood bar — both feel quintessentially Chicago and perfectly balance my love for great food, great atmosphere, and great music.
- How would you describe your style in five words? vintage, chic, effortless, edgy, feminine
