Autumn Flowers to Carry Us From Summer
While a Midwestern Indian Summer is always on our weather wishlist, the prospect of sweater weather, fireplaces and foliage can offer an equally enticing appeal. Indeed, it is these more transitory seasons–those that carry us from extremes–that are often the most highly anticipated.
In the wonderful world of event and floral design, we always have seasonality on our minds, and a daily stroll through our floral studio quite often yields something different than the day before. To help with the transition from summer, our floral designers have shared some fall stems that will help you be all in for autumn.
STUNNING AUTUMN STEMS:
Spiky orbs of periwinkle Echinops add texture and rusticity, while Marigolds, a flower box favorite, add enlivening color and fresh fragrance.
Golden, velvety Celosia and delicate, wheaty Sedum add color and shape:
Intricate and bright, Asclepia and Chinese Lanterns are sure to catch your eye:
COMPLEMENTARY ENHANCEMENTS:
FOLIAGE, GREENS & ACCENTS
Tall textured stalks of wheat, sorghum, and millet add the perfect fall accent:
Branches of Sumac and Bittersweet scream autumn with their stunning golds, reds and rusts:
In addition to their amazing texture, Artichokes add depth and weight to fuller centerpieces:
The rich colors and myriad textures come together beautifully:
