REPORTS TO: GENERAL MANAGER
DIRECT REPORTS: MOCK UP & FABRIC MANAGER AND WAREHOUSE STAFF (13 FULL TIME & 12 PART TIME EMPLOYEES). SUPERVISE OTHERS (LIKE TEMPORARY STAFF) AS NECESSARY.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Highly organized and motivated with excellent follow up & problem solving skills.
- Pleasant, enthusiastic and professional demeanor in interactions with vendors, clients and colleagues.
- Ability to lift up to 75lbs. and be on one’s feet for long periods of time.
- Ability to organize and provide direction to Mock Up and Warehouse staff to successfully facilitate the position responsibilities.
- Ability to successfully supervise the handling, loading, unloading, cleaning & storage of all HMR event related items to/from transportation vehicles and storage shelves, keeping safety paramount.
- Ability to train, mentor and motivate employees.
- Proficiency in E-Mail, Google Calendar and Direct (HMR will train on this program)
- Having a valid C-Class Driver’s License (or equivalent and clean driving record from the DMV) is a plus.
- Ability to read and speak English. Conversational Spanish is a plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES
PLANNING & MANAGEMENT:
- Responsible for organizing the various stages of the Warehouse/Dock processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy to include:
- Review of Event Creatives.
- Print tags for all event items.
- Plan and schedule the events to be loaded/unloaded.
- Resolve discrepancies in inventory counts, updating Direct and coordinating with the Inventory Control Manager, as necessary.
- Monitor breakage and arrange for the timely repair of broken/damaged items.
- Liaison with Dispatch to plan rental transportation needs.
- Responsible for subordinate management to include:
- Daily supervision of employee’s work and uniform compliance.
- Daily monitoring of warehouse employee time clock punches for accuracy.
- Schedule employees at least 2 weeks in advance (or provide this data to the Logistics Manager), further when possible.
- Schedule and approve vacation, sick & personal time. Coordinate information with HR.
- Conduct annual Performance Evaluations.
- Interview potential candidates.
- Train and mentor new employees.
- Facilitate any corrective actions necessary. Documentation as required by HR.
- Develop warehouse leads to effectively oversee the daily routines of the area’s staff.
- Attend and contribute to the weekly Production Meeting. Communicate information to direct reports, as necessary.
- Attend the scheduled Manager’s Meeting. Contribute to the agenda, as necessary. Communicate information to direct reports, as necessary.
- Formulate agendas for and hold Warehouse staff meetings to share company directives and provide updates to policies and/or procedures. Consistently gather employee feedback for process improvement.
EXECUTION:
- Coordinate with the following departments/Warehouse areas, ensuring that all event items are gathered and loaded in a safe, effective manner into transportation vehicles:
- Art
- Shop
- Purchasing
- Floral
- Warehouse to include: Fabric, Vinyl, Glass, Furniture, Electric & Paint Booth
- Monitor the safe and effective loading and unloading of all event items into transportation vehicles.
- Keep docks, storage areas/shelves clean, labeled and well organized. Promptly arrange for the cleaning and return of all event items to proper storage areas. Ensure items are stored properly to conserve space and comply with safety procedures.
- Train and mentor current, new and temporary employees, focusing on safety, processes, efficiencies and standards of HMR Designs.
- Perform Warehouse duties alongside staff, exemplifying proper procedure and process.
- Provide immediate response to any injuries and arrange for proper treatment. Provide accurate details of incidents when injuries occur for required documentation.
- Drive transportation vehicles, when necessary.
- Any special projects, as necessary.
