Intimate Ivy Room Celebration

Since our inception, every wedding we’ve had the privilege of working on has continuously held a unique place in our history. From the delicately hand-placed florals to those meticulous tablescape placements, not a detail is overlooked or forgotten. In fact it’s our passion for perfection that drives our design discretion and the recent celebration of Lauren and Barry’s nuptials was no exception, even in the midst of Covid-19.  While their original wedding day plans had to change due to the pandemic, they still went forth to have a romantic, albeit intimate, day to remember.  Married under the chuppah of her dreams, Lauren described her wedding day as, “intimate and beautiful.” And we couldn’t agree more.

Read on to see more of the lush florals from the beautiful mind of Burt Rubenstein, our Q&A with the bride, Lauren, and more of Collin Pierson’s incredible photography. And a big thank you to Reva Nathan’s impeccable planning, helping us reimagine this fairytale for Lauren and Barry was a true honor.

What about your wedding day changed due to Covid-19?

We went from having a large weekend celebration over Memorial Day Weekend, to having a small Wednesday afternoon ceremony with just immediate family.

Where there any silver linings to changes that you had to make due to the Covid-19 pandemic?

The ceremony was incredibly intimate and special. We really got to soak up all the little moments and enjoy the heartfelt speeches!

What was your favorite part of your wedding day?

Exchanging our written vows – and the beautiful intensity of witnessing each other’s emotions, especially after what has been a challenging year for everyone.

What was the best part of your decor?

Our chuppah! From the time I was a little girl, I dreamed of having a lush green and floral chuppah that we all could stand under. HMR Designs helped us create that magical canopy, which was also thoughtfully executed for social distancing.

What is your best advice to couples who also have to reimagine their wedding day?

Remember that the wedding is just one day of your life together. It is the kick-off of your marriage. You can still have a romantic and beautiful day, no matter the circumstances.
