As spring slowly and breezily leads us into summer, we can’t help but have outdoor celebrations on our minds. And while it’s true that the HMR Designs team could never choose a favorite among the spaces we get to temporarily transform, we all agree that there’s nothing quite like bringing the indoors out, and gathering beneath a ceiling of sky and stars.
In honor of this week’s warmth and sunshine, we look back on some favorite al fresco soirees.

The grass was actually greener at this lush summer soiree. With the stunning backdrop of the Chicago Botanic Garden unfolding around it, all the rain seemed to do was make it more beautiful outside, and all the more intimate within.

In this fully customized vibrant environment, the only element more captivating than the sunken dance floor at the center was the alluring Chicago skyline views being offered up all around it. This one made us all proud to work in the second city.
